As an established training site with the FP5/FP6 of the European Commission EURON has invested in an international extensive educational PhD programme with courses and workshops for instance on topics like: rodent and human neuroanatomy, Alzheimer’s Disease and Psychopharmacology. The courses and workshops reflect the expertise of the different EURON partners and collaborations between the partner universities. The workshop on Drugs and the Brain was recognized as a FENS-IBRO School in 2012, 2017 and 2019.

In addition the European Union Erasmus Life Long Learning Programme has awarded EURON with a grant for a Curriculum Development project named “European Master in Translational Neuroscience”, abbreviated as EMTN (2009-2012).

EURON partners were involved in the development of a Double Degree master programme (DDP) "EDU-NEURO EU-JP" with partner universities in Japan (2013 - 2017) under the Bilateral Collaboration scheme of the Erasmus programme of the EU. Key elements from accredited Master programs from the partner universities were integrated into this double master program in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Neuroscience. The DDP between Maastricht University and Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine (Kyoto) and Tohoku University (Sendai) is well established, see the information on this programme.
