Welcome
The European Graduate School of Neuroscience is an international research and training network of eleven universities in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Furthermore EURON has an association with four other universities in France, Portugal, Turkey and Germany. The coordinator of EURON is the School for Mental Health and Neuroscience of Maastricht University, The Netherlands. Strong research relationships have been formed and extended with the EURON partners as well as the development of the educational PhD program through the recognition as Marie Curie Training Site under the 5th and 6th Framework Program of the European Commission. Therefore we can offer PhD and Master students a unique chance to broaden their research competencies by our extensive educational PhD program.
The principal goals of EURON are to perform high-impact translational neuroscience research on neurodegenerative and psychiatric illnesses and to provide state-of-the-art education to Master and PhD students. To this end, EURON has brought together basic and clinical neuroscience domains. We perform a disease oriented approach and cluster our knowledge and expertise to provide insights into the neurodegenerative processes and mechanisms in order to increase the development of new therapeutic strategies. We work together on Alzheimer’s disease, depression, epilepsy, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, MS, stroke and spinal cord injuries.
