EURON Workshop School Drugs and the Brain: an update in Psychopharmacology from experimental to clinic

April 15-20, 2012
Maastricht University/University of Minho, Braga, Portugal

Sponsored by the FENS-IBRO and the ECNP

This 8th edition of the workshop will again be organized at the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal in collaboration with Maastricht University, Maastricht, The Netherlands and will be sponsored by the FENS-IBRO European Neuroscience Schools Programme.
Furthermore the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) will sponsor one student of this school for ECNP courses and one of the key lectures in the program.

This School forms part of a series on psychopharmacology and psychopathology of brain diseases that were organized in the last years in the Netherlands, Germany and Portugal by the European Graduate School of Neuroscience (EURON) with great success. As with all our teaching courses emphasis is placed on the translational aspects i.e. from the laboratory bench to the patient’s bedside. Furthermore we encourage the utmost interaction between the young researchers and the senior scientists through discussion groups and debates.
During this period (2002-2011) the organization has evaluated the content of the program in order to meet the need and interests of the young generation researchers in neuroscience in Europe. Therefore we are very proud on the content of our program and on our faculty consisting of key speakers, real experts in the field that committed them to our School. We hope to educate a new generation of scientists that will be able to collaborate in international settings of academia and industry working on new possible therapeutic treatments for psychiatric and neurological disorders.

The School is open for European PhD students and junior post-docs with a maximum of 40 students. Submission of an abstract of own research project is required (see online registration for details).
