This MHeNS course aims to introduce PhD students to basic concepts of neuroanatomy, functional neuroanatomy and neuropathology and will clarify the current knowledge on the neuroanatomical and neurobiological underpinnings of neuropsychiatric disorders.
The course of 4 consecutive days starts with 2 days of interactive lectures and practical hands-on on neuroanatomy of the human brain. The third day of the course will link the functional and anatomical concepts to clinical neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, Parkinson disease, Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and affective disorders.
The fourth day will provide the students with practical experience with functional and structural MRI methodologies. The multidisciplinary teaching staff consists of world-renown experts in the fields of neuroanatomy, neuroscience, imaging, and clinical neuropsychiatry and will provide an excellent learning experience for PhD students working in neuroscience, psychiatry and psychology.
Deadline registration:
The deadline for registration is January 6th, 2012.
PhD candidates will be selected based upon their motivation for attending the course.
The format of the motivation letter is linked to the online registration. You will be notified at January 9th whether you have been selected.
Post-docs may register but will only selected if there are still openings.
This course is not open to pregnant women, because of exposure to neurotoxic chemicals.
Registration Fee:
There is no registration fee for MHeNS PhD students / For EURON members the registration fee is: € 150 / other UM PhD students € 200 / external PhD students € 250 / Industrial scientists € 400.
